You should not use JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC if you have a history of severe allergies or severe allergic reactions like anaphylaxis, or if you are allergic to the gram-positive bacterial proteins used to make Hyaluronic Acid in JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC or lidocaine.

What should I discuss with my doctor before getting treatment with JUVÉDERM VOLUMA®XC?
Tell us if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a history of excessive scarring or pigmentation disorders. You should also discuss any medications that can prolong bleeding or therapy used to decrease the body’s immune response you are currently taking.

Is treatment with JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC injectable gel painful?
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC contains lidocaine (a type of anesthetic) to help numb the treatment site. Your doctor may also choose to numb the treatment area with a topical or other injected numbing agent to further minimize discomfort.
How long does JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC last?
The natural-looking results of JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC lasts up to two years with optimal treatment. Results may vary.
What are the possible side effects of JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC injectable gel?
In a clinical study, most side effects were moderate in nature, and generally lasted 2 to 4 weeks. The most common side effects include temporary reactions at the treatment site such as tenderness, swelling, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, pain, redness, discoloration, and itching. These side effects are consistent with other facial-injection procedures. Although most side effects will resolve with time, some side effects may persist longer than 30 days. We may choose to treat them with medications, such as antibiotics, steroids, or hyaluronidase (an enzyme that breaks down HA). As with all skin-injection procedures, there is a risk of infection. Rarely, vision abnormalities have been reported after treatment with JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC.
What is JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC made of?
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC contains a modified Hyaluronic Acid, called HA for short. This HA is derived from a naturally occurring complex sugar.
What should I expect following the procedure?
In the clinical study, the most common side effects of JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC were temporary reactions at the treatment site. Such reactions include terderness, swelling, firmness, lumps or bumps, bruising, pain, redness, discoloration, and itching. These side effects were usually moderate in severity and did not require treatment. These side effects generally lasted 2 to 4 weeks. Because JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC treatment is non-surgical, you may return to your normal activities 24 hours after treatment.
Within that window, it is also recommended to avoid strenuous exercise and extended exposure to the sun and heat.

At what age do people usually begin to get JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC treatment?
Each person is different and will be assessed in an office visit. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA®XC is approved for use in people over the age of 21.
People treated in the JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC clinical study ranged in age from 35 to 65 years old. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC has not been studied in people under age 35 or over age 65.
Can treatment with JUVÉDERM® XC and JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC be administered at the same time?
